Out of respect for the other athletes, for nature and for the sport itself, both in climbing and in bouldering it is recommended to observe a few general instructions. Here are a few of the ethics and safety rules that is best to be known by every beginner and applied while practicing climbing or bouldering.
- It is not recommended to alter the holds or to dent/dig new holds
- The cleaning of the holds is done only with natural hair brushes
- The holds are left for drying naturally, they are dried using fire or other heat sources
- Protect the fauna and the vegetation as much as possible; follow the already existing foot paths and do not step on areas covered with vegetation
- Do not disperse the equipment
- Limit yourself only to the absolutely necessary holds
- Do not smoke and do not make an open fire, in order to narrow down the risks for starting a fire
- Always remove the magnesium off the holds before leaving, this represents a polluting element
- Avoid cutting tree branches or bushes and avoid removing the moss off the rock. The accomplishment of a track must not involve any kind of vegetation deterioration.
- Do not forget to completely remove the equipment used for climbing after you have finished
Climbing is an incredible sport that offers satisfactions on all levels, but in order to practice it safely and while respecting nature, it is recommended to observe these rules. As a general recommendation, always try to protect nature, take all the safety measure and do not forget to leave the spot as you would like to find it.
